About this ebook

What's special about Shiv Chalisa + Aarti?

इस पुस्तक में क्या खास है

On Monday, in Sawan or on any ordinary day, the Shiv Chalisa and the “Om Jai Shiv Omkara” aarti are sung in homes everywhere. But very few people know what lines like “Ang gaur shir Gang bahaye” or “Trigun roop nirakhat tribhuvan” mean. This book explains both, line by line: mool path, meaning of hard words, a simple meaning in Hindi and the English meaning.

Where a line hides a katha — Samudra manthan and the drinking of poison, Ganga avataran, Tripurasur — that story is told in short. At the end is a simple vidhi for daily paath and offering jal to Shiv ji. The meaning and explanation are written by DevGranth.
