Durga Chalisa & Ambe Ji Ki Aarti — with Meaning

In Navratri or on any normal day, Durga Chalisa and the “Jai Ambe Gauri” aarti are part of the daily puja in many homes. But few people know the meaning of the Devi’s forms and stories in the chalisa — Mahishasura, Shumbh-Nishumbh, Raktabeej.

This book gives every line of the chalisa in mool path, the meaning of hard words, a simple Hindi bhavarth and an English meaning. Every verse of the aarti is explained too. Where a line has a story behind it, the story is told in short. The meaning and explanation are DevGranth’s own. At the end is a simple vidhi for daily paath of Maa Durga at home: diya, aasan, sankalp and the order of the aarti.
