Can we do the katha at home without pandit ji?

Yes. Many families do the katha themselves with faith, and this book gives a simple order for that. For a big event or a havan, it is good to call pandit ji.

About this ebook

What's special about Satyanarayan Katha?

इस पुस्तक में क्या खास है

On Purnima, at a griha pravesh, or when a good work is done — many homes hold the Satyanarayan Bhagwan katha. This book gives all five chapters in order, in simple Hindi, so the reader and the listeners can follow every part of the story.

Before the katha is the full puja vidhi at home: setting the chowki with banana leaves, kalash, panchamrit, panjiri prasad, sankalp and the order of pujan. After the katha come the “Jai Lakshmi Ramana” aarti and the tradition of sharing prasad.
