Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Vidhi — From Sthapana to Visarjan

On Ganesh Chaturthi, many families bring Ganpati Bappa home — for one and a half, three, five, seven or all ten days. The day of sthapana brings the most confusion: what kind of murti to get, which direction to place it in, in what order to do the puja, and what to do each day.

This book explains the whole festival in order: the preparation and samagri list, tips for choosing the murti, a simple sthapana and avahan vidhi, the 16 steps of shodashopachar puja, 21 durva and modak bhog, and the morning and evening aarti. At the end come the Syamantak Mani katha linked to seeing the moon on Chaturthi, the uttar puja and visarjan vidhi, and how to do visarjan at home in a container of water.
